River Package

The River Package is designed for travelers seeking a taste of Pacuare’s rainforest magic paired with the thrill of navigating one of Costa Rica’s most iconic rivers. This experience offers a seamless, adventure-forward journey: an à la carte breakfast, expert-guided arrivals and departures by rafting or 4×4, and full access to the natural beauty that surrounds the lodge.

It’s an ideal option for guests looking to enjoy the essence of Pacuare with flexibility, comfort, and the unmatched excitement of river exploration.

Breakfast includes 1 fruit plate and 1 main course. Additional plates can be purchased for an additional fee.

Transportation 

Arrival (choose one): 

  • Shared Arrival by Rafting: Class II-III rapids (1.5 hours); minimum age: 9 and weight limits: 30-125 kg / 65–275 lbs. Arrival time to Pacuare Lodge 12:00 PM 
  • Shared Arrival by 4×4 Transfer: Arrival time to Pacuare Lodge 11:00 AM 

Departure (choose one): 

  • Shared Departure by Rafting: Class III-IV rapids (3 hours); minimum age: 12 and weight limits: 30-125 kg / 65–275 lbs. Departure time from Pacuare Lodge 9:30 AM 
  • Shared Departure by 4×4 Transfer: Departure time from Pacuare Lodge 11:30 AM 

Pick-up / Drop-off location will depend on your form of Arrival/Departure. Parking is available for vehicles at both locations. 

Pick-up in Santa Marta: Shared transfer from Santa Marta at 9:30 AM (for arrival by rafting) or at 11:00 AM (for arrival by 4×4 transfer). 
Pick-up in Siquirres: Shared transfer from the Pacuare Lodge Operations Center in Siquirres at 9:00 AM (for arrival by rafting) or at 11:00 AM (for arrival by 4×4 transfer). 

Drop-off in Santa Marta: Shared 4×4 transfer to Santa Marta before 12:30 PM 
Drop-off in Siquirres: Shared rafting or 4×4 transfer to the Pacuare Lodge Operations Center in Siquirres by 1:00 PM 

Outside Pick-Up/Drop-Off Zone: For pick-ups or drop-off outside the included zones and schedules, ground transportation can be arranged for an additional fee. We can also quote transportation by private charter flight from/to a nearby airport or by helicopter directly from/to Pacuare Lodge.

Opting Out of Transfers: If you opt out of included transfers, please notify us in advance so we can arrange the best meeting details. Please note Pacuare Lodge is not accessible on your own.  

Your safety is our top priority. Participation in Rafting and other adventure activities depends on river conditions, mobility, physical condition, and guest size. Final approval is at the discretion of our professional guides. 

Not included: Private transfers, lunch, dinner, alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic beverages outside of mealtimes, specialty coffees, sparkling water, spa treatments, optional or private tours, incidentals.  


Connection Between Pacuare Lodge & Tortuga Lodge

Enhance your journey by connecting your stay between Pacuare Lodge Operation Center and Tortuga Lodge through a seamless, multi-experience transfer combining river, land, and coastal travel.

Connection Fee:
River Package $250 (1–4 guests)
Full Experience Package $150 (1–4 guests)

Pacuare Lodge → Tortuga Lodge

This experience includes:

  • Shared rafting experience departing Pacuare Lodge
  • Shared ground transfer from Pacuare Lodge Operations Center to Caño Blanco Dock
  • Shared boat transfer from Caño Blanco Dock to Tortuga Lodge

Services operate on fixed schedules and are subject to operational availability.

Important: Full Experience rate applies only to bookings with the Full Experience Package at both lodges; otherwise, River Package rates apply. Shared service.


Please note: As Pacuare Lodge is located in a pristine and remote rainforest setting, arrivals are scheduled before 6:00 p.m. to ensure a safe and seamless transfer experience.
